Joann Keller

Joann Keller spends way too much time sipping coffee and happily being inspired by the beauty around her north Georgia home and the coast of South Carolina, where she regularly vacations.

Her formal study of art began in the 1980’s at the University of Georgia, where after earning her BS she took a landscape architecture graphics course and then a series of scientific illustration classes.  She has progressed from pen and ink, to watercolor and most recently oils.  Her style has changed accordingly, gradually becoming a little looser, especially in plein air pieces such as Downstream.  She credits James Richards with opening her eyes to the joy and beauty of impressionistic oil painting and is excited about continuing to grow and learn.
